Luke Freeman departed Luton Town this summer but Carlton Palmer believes he will be a great fit for Championship club, Queens Park Rangers.

The 31-year old joined Luton in 2022 following his release from Sheffield United but little over a year later he was let go.

The Englishman was signed by Nathan Jones and went on to play 26 times under Jones and Rob Edwards.

He scored against Cardiff City and his former side QPR and played his part as Premier League promotion at Wembley.

He is a Championship veteran playing for Bristol City, Nottingham Forest and Millwall in the league.

What has Carlton Palmer said about Luke Freeman?

Palmer had a lengthy career spanning over 30 years at many teams across a variety of levels in the English pyramid.

He spent the majority of his career with West Bromwich Albion, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United.

The midfielder made 18 appearances in a year for England.

When discussing potential homes for the former Luton man he said: “Luke Freeman is a free agent after leaving Luton. He is still only 31.

“The midfielder played a part in their promotion season under Nathan Jones, but when the new manager came in, he did not figure in his plans.”

It is obvious to see that Palmer believes that Freeman has something to add.

But who does Palmer see Freeman’s future with: “I think somewhere like QPR could be a good fit – the way he likes to play and the style of play would marry up well.”

Despite it not working out with Luton, no fan would begrudge him doing well as he moves on.
