Opta Analyst have created a predicted end of season, Premier League table, using a supercomputer to predict the percentage outcomes.
Luton Town haven’t had the nicest of welcomes to the Premier League after earning promotion through the play off’s last season.
Their first ever game in the league saw a positive, but heavy, 4-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Good feeling hasn’t left the Hatters’ faithful in spite of results.
Another loss by three goals followed, away at Stamford Bridge, losing 3-0 to Chelsea in a dominant win for the Blues.

A first league game at Kenilworth Road saw a much closer game than the previous.
Losing 2-1 against West Ham was tough to take, especially given a last minute penalty was waved away despite an obvious handball.
As a result of this form Luton are heavily tipped by Opta, as they were in pre season, to be relegated.
What has Opta Analyst said about Luton Town?
A ‘predicted final league position’ table has been created which features probabilities of each position a team will finish in.
Prior to the season, ‘the Opta supercomputer made Luton (62.3%) favourites for the drop, and that has not changed’.
With that high a percentage it was always going to be difficult for Rob Edwards’ side to shake that stigma.
The Hatters’ percentage chance of relegation has increased after four games this season according to Opta.
There is an increase of just under 6% following three defeats from three.

This is despite playing less games than everyone else, ‘Burnley and Luton Town remain pointless, though they have played one game fewer than everyone else due to their match with each other being postponed.’
Opta give Luton a 0.1% chance of finishing as high as 10th, with anything higher being less than that.
With all this being said, the analysts have given a probability of 15.9% of the Hatters finishing in 17th place and surviving relegation.
Who knows what will happen come may and match week 38 but probabilities are forever changing as we’ve seen after just four games.
