Former Manchester United youngster Teden Mengi has made the move to Kenilworth Road, but what can he bring to Luton Town.
Teden Mengi is a player who was once tipped as having the potential to be a regular for the 20-time league champions.
He however never quite fulfilled the potential he had so often been credited with.
That being said, that ability hasn’t just disappeared and under the right coaching and system, it is possible he could realise his potential.
At the heart of a troubled defence is where he will be expected to come in, but can he make the difference?
Here are three reasons we think he can save Luton’s season…

Mengi’s physicality is immense
Despite not being the tallest defender at 6ft, Mengi makes up for that with incredible strength.
This will greatly improve the centre of Luton’s defence as there aren’t many who will be able to out-muscle him.
This strength could come in handy against strikers like Antonio or either Erling Haaland and Rasmus Hojlund.
Big club mentality
Mengi has spent all of his career besides a few loan moves, at Manchester United.
Therefore he is going to have the mindset of someone who has played for big clubs all his career.
This will be a big plus, given he likely can handle the pressure Luton will be under and also will potentially be able to lead at the back.
Leadership
Despite his young age, Mengi is a natural leader, captaining most of United’s youth teams at various levels.
He is no stranger to wearing an armband and these skills and qualities could be pivotal in a team lacking experience at a top level.
He could be someone other players look to for inspiration, especially if he can reach the levels we all know he is capable of.
