Luton Town are interested in a potential loan deal for Aston Villa’s Cameron Archer with a whole host of teams after his signature.

The striker has been linked to multiple Premier League sides as well as almost every Championship side.

According to reports, the Hatters would prefer a loan rather than a permanent transfer. A deal which may suit Unai Emery more.

Who is Cameron Archer?

Archer has been at Villa since the age of eight after being signed from Walsall.

He has worked his way up through the academy sides and broke into the under 23s side at the age of 16.

He made his senior debut for the club aged 17-years-old against Crewe Alexandra in the Carabao Cup.

Solihull Moors signed the striker on loan in October 2020 where he spent the rest of the season scoring four goals.

A move to Preston North End on loan was next where he scored seven in 20 games.

He then joined Middlesbrough on loan in January of the following season.

This is where he caught a lot of attention. Scoring 11 and assisting six in just 20 games has encouraged Villa to keep hold of him.

With the form of Ollie Watkins last season, Archer will be playing second string and may want first team football.

Should Luton Town sign Cameron Archer?

The Hatters may be in need of a striker, with Carlton Morris, Elijah Adebayo and Jacob Brown being the only recognised senior strikers at the club.

A loan deal suits the Premier League new boy, keeping out going costs down but bringing in a top talent.

The issue with the move is that Morris and Adebayo have a great partnership that formed over the course of last season.

Archer will expect to play almost every available minute if he signs on loan, something Rob Edwards may not be able to offer.

With Sheffield United in the mix, offering consistent Premier League football every week, he may prefer that option.

He is a devastating finisher and is able to support his teammates with assists. He would be a great signing, especially as a loan.
