Luton could be about to substantially add to their Premier League experience department with a deal of Isaac Hayden close.

Luton’s squad has been said to be lacking top division experience this season, however over the last few weeks they’ve added an abundance.

Tim Krul and Ross Barkley have arrived at Kenilworth Road which substantially bolstered the sides experience.

Apart from these two however, Luton are still a team made up of players which Championship level experience at best.

Combined with the young profile targeted consistently through the majority of their signings, it has been predicted they’ll struggle.

This has came to fruition thus far, with two losses from two to start the season.

However now, Luton seem to be about to confirm the arrival of their latest signing.

Hayden to Luton

Isaac Hayden is reportedly set to join Luton Town imminently, according to Mail Online.

Hayden is said to have completed his medical on Monday prior to a move after he was deemed surplus to requirements by Eddie Howe.

The 28-year-old will be tasked with tightening up the leaky Luton defence which has conceded seven goals in two games, scoring just once.

Hayden brings with him an impressive career in English football.

He boasts 118 Premier League appearances for Newcastle, albeit the last game in the 2021-22 season.

Above this he spent last season at Norwich City on-loan making just 14 appearances which meant he wasn’t able to remain at the club.

He is a solid and reliable player for Luton to bring in, but he is unremarkable and will be more a solid inclusion in the system than a stand-out player.

His best asset to Luton will be his leadership having been a candidate for Newcastle’s captain prior to Howe’s arrival.
