Henri Lansbury has confirmed his retirement from professional football after his contract expired at Luton Town this summer.
The English midfielder signed on a free transfer in January 2021 after he was released by Bristol City.
He made 48 appearances for the Hatters, scoring one and assisting one.
His one goal happens to be a wondergoal. A half volley from 30 yards against Hull City.
His most memorable moment may be his ‘free kick‘ against Swansea City where Ryan Manning felt the brunt of the ‘set piece’ lets say.

What has Henri Lansbury said?
On his Instagram, Lansbury uploaded a highlight reel and a heartfelt message.
It was clearly a moment of emotion for the former Arsenal man saying: “I didn’t think this day would come where I would be saying that I am retiring from professional football”
Showing his gratitude to everyone involved in his career was a major part of his statement.
Looking back on his career he said: “I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who I have had the pleasure of working with in the football world, from managers, coaches, to teammates and to opponents.
“It’s been one hell of a ride!”
He won promotion with the hatters last season, the fourth of his career: “I’m so grateful for the amazing experience. From the clubs that I have represented, being part of four promotions, to representing England at youth level.
“The highs and lows, I’ve loved every minute of it.”
318 appearances, 45 goals and 33 assists in England’s second tier.
An eccentric character, a footballer with great ability and one of the best players to have set foot in the Championship.
