In an interview prior to the start of the Premier League season, Luton Town manager, Rob Edwards believes his side will be ‘very competitive’.
With Luton Town’s first ever Premier League match just days away, the excitement is growing to see the Hatters at the very top level.
Speaking to the BBC, Edwards has said he is “under no illusions” about the task he and his squad have in front of them, but still remains confident: “They will be very competitive, we all want to try and be in the Premier League next season.”

There is also an air of realism abut the Hatters’ boss: “There’s nothing wrong with having fears, it’s just normal. You can’t hide that and there’s nothing wrong with talking about that.”
The Premier League new boys have made eight signings so far this summer, as they aim to survive and extend their stay for more than a single season.
Ross Barkley the most recent signing, adds some more Premier League experience to the side.
Rob Edwards is confident in his side
There is something about Luton consistently defying the odds to achieve things no one thought was possible; something Edwards feels will play its part: “There’s a core who have been here for a number of years and have consistently proved people wrong and they’re going to want that again.”
With their new signings combining with their existing squad of experience, grit and determination, there is reason to think that there will be positive moments for Luton this season.
Coming up against top quality sides on a weekly basis will be something new for Edwards and the majority of his squad. They will enjoy the challenge and if anyone can defy odds its the hatters.
