Tom Lockyer has spoken out about his collapse at Wembley in the Championship Play Off final and how Christian Eriksen inspired his recovery.
Lockyer suffered an atrial fibrillation during the game against Coventry City in May.
Professor Sanjay Shah was the cardiologist as the Welshman had surgery to attempt to resolve any issues.
In 2021, Denmark midfielder Eriksen suffered a heart attack on the field and shared the same cardiologist as the Luton man.
Lockyer couldn’t praise his doctor enough, telling the BBC: “Professor Sanjay Shah was incredible.”
Taking inspiration from the Manchester United midfielder put Lockyer’s worries at ease: “he said that Eriksen’s was worse and he’s back, so straight away I was in good spirits.”
His only fears came pondering whether the incident would effect his game.

Despite the seriousness of the topic, as the skipper often does, he made light of it saying: “Touch wood, it all seems good so far and I’ve still got electric pace.”
Emotions will be running high for the Welshman and his family but he is fully focused on the game: “It’s not ever on my mind.
“I know my mum is a little bit more sensitive than I am and she doesn’t like being reminded of anything like that.”
It will be great to see the captain back on the field, especially given the circumstances his last game ended in.
The first Premier League game for the Hatters, Lockyer will lead them out at the AMEX and create history.
