Luton Town manager, Rob Edwards, believes the international break has come at a good time to let his new players acclimatise to the club.

The Hatters made 12 new signings this summer with Albert Sambi Lokonga and Teden Mengi being the most recent additions.

Three games into the Premier League season, Town are yet to pick up any points with a 2-1 loss to West Ham the latest result.

Edwards’ men have played one less games than their league opposition due to the refurbishment to Kenilworth Road.

Despite having this extra week off, the international break still comes as a welcome break for the Luton boss.

What has Rob Edwards said?

The Hatters have just four players away on international duty.

Tom Lockyer, Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu, Chiedozie Ogbene and Amari’i Bell all set to depart for games this week coming.

With all the new signings, two weeks with no games will give a chance to build some team cohesion.

On this point Edwards said: “It’s a great opportunity to have a couple of weeks to bed everyone in.

“To improve on the areas that we know we’ve got to keep working on and to try and be better in the things we’ve done well.”

When dissecting their previous performances, he thinks there is positives: “I’ve seen lots of good things, I’ve seen a better performance tonight than last week, I think everyone would agree with that.”

Moving forward, these positives that are being taken, need to be translated into results and points on the board.

Edwards is happy so far however: “That should give us a lot of confidence and a lot of belief going forward.”

With only four players away, it looks like a perfect chance to build a squad and with new players coming in, they need to gel quickly.
