Mads Andersen has insisted there are plenty of positives for Luton Town to take after their first three Premier League games.

Andersen scored his first goal for the Hatters against West Ham United in his third game for the club.

The Dane signed from Barnsley this summer, making a good impression so far at his new club despite three losses.

The first Premier League game at Kenilworth Road ended in narrow defeat with an unlucky penalty decision went against them.

Despite three defeats from three, there are positives to take.

Fans, players and manager alike are all happy and looking for the silver lining from the season so far.

What has Mads Andersen said?

The form at the start of the season isn’t as concerning as it seems, playing three good sides so far.

This isn’t an issue for Andersen: “There’s loads of positives I think, we kept them away from many chances, they were just very clinical on the ones they had.”

The Hammers only had three shots on target on the night, scoring twice. They also had an xG of 1.03 and two big chances.

Luton made three big chances, but only had one shot on target, which they scored from. A poor return on the night in truth.

This was agreed with by the Dane: “We created a lot of chances to score, we did the basics better than we had done in the previous games, so loads of positives.”

The season isn’t based off three games, and Andersen wants to be judged on the season as a whole: “This is not a sprint, it’s a marathon and I’m sure you can see we’re improving every game.

“The lads are going to keep on going, we’re going to keep working hard in training and learning from the games.”

There is a long run left to the finish line for the Hatters. They will pick up points on the way if they continue to improve.
