Luton Town are in talks to sign 35-year-old Tim Krul from Norwich City.
Reported by Football Insider, Krul is in the final year of his contract for the Canaries. He may be sold for a cut price deal this window.
The Dutchman is famed for his penalty saves in the 2014 World Cup and would likely act as backup for the Hatters.
Who is Tim Krul?
He is a goalkeeper with over 15 years experience in English football in between the Premier League and Championship.
He made 160 appearances for Newcastle United between 2009 and 2017, playing as number one for large spells.
He was one of the key figures for Alan Pardew’s side as they hit top form and finished fifth.
A reliable figure for the Magpies, Brighton and Norwich, he is known for his shot stopping more so than his distribution.
He has found a home in East Anglia, becoming a fan favourite at Carrow Road.
Named as player of the season in 2020, becoming only the fifth keeper in the clubs history to win the award.
With 163 appearances, he looks to be on his way out as his contract runs down.
What will Tim Krul add to Luton Town?
Experience. Plain and simple.
There is no guarantee that he will start any games, but as a second choice he will play a part in the squad dynamic.
With Thomas Kaminski coming in, a goalkeeper with Premier League experience to supplement him will be a massive help.

Only three players in the Luton squad have experience of the league. Add in Krul’s experience it can only be positive.
Losing Ethan Hovarth after his loan expired has left a hole.
Filling the gap with these two will benefit the team.
